Superman: Man of Tomorrow avrà il compito di portare novità e freschezza, e dalle prime immagini del trailer sembra che non deluderà le attese.
La storia seguirà un giovane Clark Kent impiegato al Daily Planet come stagista. Un ragazzo che sta imparando ad affinare i propri poteri. Il supereroe dovrà affrontare Lex Luthor e Lobo i villain del film.
Il fumetto da cui tra ispirazione questo film è l’omonimo Superman: The Man of Tomorrow, lanciato nel 1995 e pubblicato per 16 numeri fino al 1999. Durante quel periodo, importanti creatori lavorarono al progetto, tra cui Roger Stern, Louise Simonson, JM DeMatteis, Tom Grummett e Ryan Sook, tra gli altri.

Il cast originale del film diretto da Chris Palmer vede Darren Criss (Glee; Hollywood) che darà la voce a Superman, mentre Zachary Quinto (Star Trek Beyond; Heroes) sarà Lex Luthor, Alexandra Daddario (True Detective; San Andreas) sarà Lois Lane, Brett Dalton (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.; Elementary) darà la voce a Lobo, Ryan Hurst (Remember the Titans; The Walking Dead) sarà Parasite, Ike Amadi (Mass Effect 3; Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge) sarà Martian Manhunter, Neil Flynn (Scrubs; Mean Girls) sarà Jonathan Kent, e Bellamy Young (Scandal; Scrubs) darà voce a Martha Kent.
