Sono da poco state annunciate tutte le nomination per i prestigiosi Emmy Awards 2020, premi con cui vengono celebrate ogni anno le diverse categorie per il mondo della tv (USA ed UK): serie televisive, mini-serie, film e show in generale riguardanti il piccolo schermo. Prima della lista di tutte le categorie e nomine troverete anche un veloce punto della situazione dei vari network e principali titoli in gari in una particolare situazione di eleggibilità dovuta alla pandemia da coronavirus che, come è noto, ha condizionato appunto tutto il mondo dello spettacolo.
Leslie Jones, Laverne Cox, Josh Gad e Tatiana Maslany hanno annunciato durante la mattinata statunitense le nomination per i 72esimi Emmy Awards.
Tra i vari network quest’anno è un vero e proprio record per Netflix, che supera di gran lunga HBO per un totale di 160 nomination contro le 107 della famosa rete cable. Seguono poi broadcast quali NBC (47) e ABC (36), successivamente la cable FX (33) ed Amazon Prime Video (30). Tra i nuovi servizi streaming Disney+ ottiene in tutto 19 nomination con The Mandalorian in lista tra i possibili vincitori dell’importante categoria Miglior Serie Drama; Apple TV+ segue con 18 ed anche il nuovissimo Quibi si porta a casa 10 nomine.
Trattando invece dei singoli titoli in gara, quello di Watchman è un eccezionale trionfo: ben 26 nomination per la miniserie targata HBO! Segue la serie Amazon The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel con 20; al terzo posto ecco il primo titolo Netflix, Ozark, assieme a Succession (HBO), entrambi con 18. Come accennato in precedenza, al quinto posto troviamo The Mandalorian (Disney+): un vero e quasi inaspettato successo per queste nomination per gli Emmy Awards 2020 per la nuova serie del mondo di Star Wars. Il quinto posto è comunque condiviso con lo show SLN e Schitt’s Creek.
