I Marvel Studios hanno ricevuto diverse candidature per il premio Visual Effects Society, in particolare sei per Infinity War:
- Outstanding Animated Character in a Photoreal Feature (Thanos)
- Outstanding Model in a Photoreal or Animated Project (Nidavellir Forge Megastructure)
- Outstanding Effects Simulations in a Photoreal Feature (Titan)
- Outstanding Effects Simulations in a Photoreal Feature (Wakanda)
- Outstanding Compositing in a Photoreal Feature (Titan)
In più, una candidatura per un premio più importante: Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature.
Sfortunatamente, nel mondo del cinema c’è grande rivalità. Sulla scena si piazza anche la Warner Bross con Aquaman. Rice due nomination come Outstanding Created Environment in a Photoreal Feature (Aquaman) and Outstanding Virtual Cinematography in a Photoreal Project (Third Act Battle).
A ricevere nomination non è solo Infinity War ma un altro titolo targato Marvel. Di fatti, Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man and the Wasp ha ricevuto una candidatura per Outstanding Created Environment in a Photoreal Feature per il lavoro compiuto sul Quantum Realm.
A suo seguito, troviamo la Sony con Spiderman: into the Spider-verse. Candidato al Outstanding Visual Effects in an Animated Featured e live-action per Venom. In più, Oustanding Effects Simulations in a Photoreal Feature.
Per la categoria “Televisione e show in streaming” Netflix regge la scena con Lost in Space che riceve sei candidature, alla pari di Infinity War.
